Zenoss GalaxZ17 Returns to Austin to Celebrate the Transformation of IT Monitoring

Austin may be the home of the breakfast taco, 1.5 million bats, 1,000+ food trucks and 250+ live music venues, but from April 10-12, 2017, the city will transform into the "Live Monitoring Capital of the World" as Zenoss, a leader in hybrid IT monitoring and analytics software, brings back its GalaxZ global user conference to the downtown JW Marriott hotel.

GalaxZ17 will be the third year in a row for the Zenoss user conference; and as this will be my third year in attendance, I can't wait to see how much the event has grown from the previous two years.  I still have fond memories of listening to GalaxZ15's keynote speaker, Dr. Michio Kaku, a Japanese-American futurist, theoretical physicist and popularizer of science.

The 2017 agenda will feature dynamic keynotes from industry visionaries along with breakout sessions led by Zenoss customers, partners and IT innovators.  Sessions will be led by the best and brightest in ITOps & DevOps.  And there will be hands-on technical training by Zenoss experts, networking with peers, and groundbreaking solutions in the Partner Showcase.

Zenoss announced Zorawar Biri Singh as a keynote speaker.  Singh is a serial entrepreneur, an innovative cloud computing thought leader and a visionary who most recently served as Cisco's global Cloud Chief Technology Officer, working directly for Chuck Robbins, and held previous executive positions at HP and IBM.  He will paint a picture for where the industry is going - in a world of AI, DevOps, ITOPs, and IoT - what the role of technologies are in this redefined notion of Digital Transformation, and what customers can expect along the way - even if they aren't ready for it.

Also announced as a keynote speaker, Cisco Systems Vice President and General Manager, Kishen Mangat.  A high-tech executive and serial entrepreneur, Mangat is a leading authority on applications and cloud technology in the mobility, service provider and internet of things (IoT) domains. His keynote will focus on the transformation of the user / customer experience.

Finally, Daniel Newman, CEO of Broadsuite Media Group, will also take part in the keynote presentation, focusing on the digital transformation.  Newman will share his insights on why this requires bringing together the technology layer with the human layer to solve the key challenges of how to grow, scale and change.

All three will articulate a vision that fundamentally redefines the "end-game," challenging attendee's current perspectives.

The event will not only bring together industry visionaries and IT rock stars to educate attendees on the transformation of hybrid IT monitoring, it will also focus on the customer.  GalaxZ is a user conference after all, and as such, one of the common themes from year to year has been centered around customer success.  According to the company, GalaxZ is designed to celebrate and reward their customers, build a community that connects live and in person, right here in Austin, so they can deepen the relationships that make all the difference in IT transformation.  "Love of customer" is a core concept for Zenoss; and last month, the company celebrated its "Customers for Life" week to showcase that love, appropriately, around the Valentine's holiday.

You may have heard Zenoss express the mantra, "Individually unique. Better together."  That theme of customer appreciation and support is clearly found in the company's DNA, from the top down.  But while slogans look great on a Website, blog post, or social media campaigns, this time, it gets expressed in person, live at the event.  And at these last two GalaxZ events, those feelings have come across as authentic, and the customers and partners I've spoken to say Zenoss owns it.

"The IT landscape for large enterprises and service providers is undergoing some major shifts, and organizations can embrace the change or risk being left behind," said Greg Stock, chairman and CEO of Zenoss.

According to Stock, a key reason people come to GalaxZ is to hear from entrepreneurs who have actually influenced some of these shifts and who can provide guidance to help them enhance their own businesses and careers.

To that end, this year's lineup is impressive with a list of speakers joining from innovative IT organizations like Google, ServiceNow, Acxiom, Cage Data, Grainger, MD Anderson, LayerX, NetApp, Newgistics, Nuance, NWN, NTT Data, Portland General Electric, Presidio, Secure-24, SaltStack, Sopris, Southern Company, Transunion, Trustmark, Unify and more.

To help attendees make the most of their time at GalaxZ17, the conference offers a range of content tailored to an individual's role, responsibilities and interests.  Things like:

  • Opportunity for hands-on experience, demos and expert sessions with cloud and infrastructure leaders, practitioners and industry experts
  • Insight on strategies for enabling business through improved IT service health in hybrid IT environments
  • The latest how-tos and best practices from Zenoss subject matter experts
  • Instructor-led, hands-on technical training courses and certifications
  • One-on-one meetings with Zenoss technical experts and other key staff
  • Third annual GalaxZ Awards, which recognizes exceptional innovation, leadership and collaboration
  • Networking opportunities throughout
