Benu
Networks today announced
the issuance by the United States' Patent Office of two technology
patents for creating easily scalable centrally-managed Wi-Fi using
software defined networking (SDN); and a system and method of providing
advanced services in a virtual CPE (vCPE) deployment. Both patents are
based on SDN/NFV principles to empower service providers to achieve
their goals, including reducing CAPEX/OPEX, accelerating the launch of
high value services, and enhancing the quality of experience (QoE).
U.S.
patent number 9,686,808, entitled "Centrally Managed Wi-Fi", pertains
to Wi-Fi aggregation using a flat Layer 2 architecture and enhanced fast
mobility for Wi-Fi devices between the Wi-Fi radio nodes. U.S. patent
number 9,585,186, entitled "System and Method of Providing Advanced
Services in a Virtual CPE Deployment", applies to providing a
centralized cloud based Wi-Fi service. Both patents include claims based
on the SDN approach of decoupling the control plane from the data plane
to leverage cloud computing technology and to realize a cost effective,
large-scale, cloud networking deployment. These newly granted patents
extend Benu Networks' robust intellectual property portfolio and when
joined with various other awarded and pending patents, protect the
unique attributes and advantages of the company's Virtual Service Edge
platform.
Benu Networks' Virtual Service Edge (VSE) platform
seamlessly integrates with service providers' operations and business
systems to facilitate a comprehensive network solution that is fully
virtualized to enable security, scalability and service agility. The VSE
solution enables rapid cloud-based service deployment, dynamic service
control, and increased customer care responsiveness. The VSE
dramatically improves service providers' time-to-market with
differentiated managed service offerings for Mobile Wi-Fi, Managed
Business Networking and Managed Home Networking.
"These
new patents demonstrate Benu Networks' commitment to innovation, its
focus on accelerating the deployment of SDN/NFV solutions, and its
pledge to address the needs of the service provider market," stated Mads
Lillelund, CEO, Benu Networks. "Benu Networks will continue to build on
its technology portfolio to consistently deliver exclusive technology
advantages to its customers and partners."
