Datapipe Announces Plans to Build Offering for VMware Cloud on AWS

Datapipe, a leader in managed cloud services for the enterprise, today announced its intent to build an offering for VMware Cloud on AWS that will provide Datapipe customers with additional simplicity, choice, and consistency in building hybrid cloud environments. VMware Cloud on AWS brings together VMware's enterprise-class Software-Defined Data Center (SDDC) software to the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Cloud and enables customers to run production applications across VMware vSphere®-based private, public, and hybrid cloud environments with optimized access to AWS. Datapipe was an Early Access Program partner and is one of the initial managed service providers (MSPs) announcing intent to build an offering on the platform.

Datapipe's planned offering will help manage customers' AWS and VMware Cloud on AWS footprints and will bring the same level of managed service and support as Datapipe's main offerings, including a unified management framework with a single monitoring platform, network connectivity options, best practices based security and governance, and more. Datapipe can assist customers with planning, building, and running their approach for AWS with its full service offering. When combined with its capabilities available on the new VMware Cloud on AWS platform, this expertise will allow Datapipe to deliver unique value in helping clients utilize the platforms to their full potential.

Customers who adopt Datapipe's VMware Cloud on AWS offering will access new business value from the AWS and VMware hybrid cloud experience. With VMware Cloud on AWS, customers will benefit from improved productivity, reduced cost, and minimized risk across their IT operations. They will also gain value from the capabilities of both VMware SDDC software and AWS Cloud and will experience increased flexibility to choose where to run applications.

"As a VMware Cloud Provider partner and an AWS Premier Consulting Partner, Datapipe will be well-positioned to help enterprise clients through this new platform on their cloud journey," said David Lucky, Director of Product Management, Datapipe. "Datapipe is committed to constantly developing new solutions to better facilitate cloud services, and this new offering will allow our mutual customers to combine VMware tool sets with the vast capabilities of AWS to simplify operations on the cloud. We're excited to be one of the first MSPs that will offer this solution that makes it easier to run VMware workloads on AWS."

VMware Cloud on AWS managed services partners enable customers to deploy the same proven solutions seamlessly in both the public and private cloud. VMware simplifies the deployment and eliminates the need for partners to refactor solutions for VMware Cloud on AWS. If a partner solution works on-premises in a VMware vSphere environment, it will easily support VMware Cloud on AWS.

Organizations that adopt VMware Cloud on AWS will benefit from:

  • Broad set of AWS services and infrastructure elasticity for VMware SDDC environments.
  • Flexibility to strategically choose where to run applications based on business needs.
  • Proven capabilities of VMware SDDC software and AWS Cloud to deliver customer value.
  • Seamless, fast, and bi-directional workload portability between private and public clouds.

"VMware Cloud on AWS provides customers a seamlessly integrated hybrid cloud offering that gives customers the SDDC experience from the leader in private cloud, running on the leading public cloud provider, AWS," said Ajay Patel, senior vice president and general manager, Product Development, Cloud Services at VMware. "Solutions such as Datapipe will enable IT teams to reduce cost, increase efficiency, and create operational consistency across cloud environments. We're excited to work with partners such as Datapipe in the future to enhance native VMware Cloud on AWS capabilities and empower customers with flexibility and choice in solutions that can drive business value."
