Broadband World Forum heads to Berlin for 2017

The global event for the broadband industry, Broadband World Forum, returns on 24-26 October 2017 with a new location right in the heart of Europe. This year's Broadband World Forum takes place in Germany's capital, Berlin - a natural choice to host the event as the country has seen a recent surge of investments into its broadband infrastructure.

In tune with the new location, Broadband World Forum has also revamped its range of events to tackle the challenges of future-proofing networks and monetising high-speed infrastructures. A range of panels, workshops and technology tours across all aspects of the broadband industry, including three of the hottest topics that are set to have an impact on the sector:

  • Networks of the Future - Taking networks from superfast to ultrafast. A look into G.fast, DOCSIS3.1, GPON, VDSL2 and FTTX.
  • Next Generation Services - Driving future revenue at both a consumer and enterprise level. A look at OTT, IOT, Smart Cities, Smart Homes and the future of business.
  • The Evolving Ecosystem - Where does data sit within the network? Opportunities for operators following innovations in Edge Computing, Fog and low-latency networks.

Now in its 17th year, Broadband World Forum features a packed agenda with more than 300 expert speakers who are ready to share the expertise on a multitude of topics vital to the broadband industry. Prominent speakers include Bruno Jacobfeuerborn, CTO at Deutsche Telekom, Geng Lin, CTO, Enterprise Networks & Head of Network Infrastructure, Next Billion Users at Google, and Ronan Kelly, CTO, EMEA & APAC Regions at Adtran.

"With significant national investment into Broadband to secure Germanys ambition for 100% Gigabit coverage, there has never been a better time to bring this event to Berlin. The team are incredibly excited for the 17th edition of Broadband World Forum and are thrilled to have an exhibition hall and conference agenda packed with some of the most exciting and innovative companies in the industry," said KNect365 Portfolio Manager Heather James. "Broadband World Forum is the only event in the world to focus holistically on the networks and this year the discussion looks to 5G deliver; what is the role of broadband networks in enabling 5G, and how can operators ensure their networks are ready for the demands that will be place on them by next generation mobile connectivity."

Norwegian company Domos will also be in attendance at Broadband World Forum to demonstrate its Domos Home Wi-Fi that leverages state-of-the-art AI technologies. Founder Bent Skaug said: "Very much looking forward to BBWF this year! As is Dom, our very own life-size, AI-powered Home IT Assistant, who will be at the show and spreading the word that AI is here to fix Wi-Fi!"
