DockerCon Europe 2017 is Fast Approaching

DockerCon 2017 is coming to Europe!  And the event is just around the corner, taking place October 16-19 at the Bella Center in Copenhagen.  As you might imagine, the European Docker community is anxiously awaiting four days of incredible learning, networking and collaboration.

The event follows on the heels of the DockerCon US 2017 event which took place back on April 17-20 in Austin, TX, where we saw more than 5,500 software delivery professionals rallying around the use of containers, with a growing focus around the usage of containerized applications in the enterprise.

The European event has a fantastic line up of speakers and presenters and a jam packed agenda with information for every attendee at any level.  With eight tracks, two summits and more than 60 sessions presented by Docker Engineering, Docker Captains, partners, practitioners and customers such as Finnish Railways, MetLife, PayPal, Splunk and Assa Abloy, rest assured, DockerCon 2017 will cover a wide range of use cases and topics to meet your needs.

If you're already registered as an attendee, make sure you login to the DockerCon Europe Agenda Builder ahead of the show to figure out what tracks and information you want to learn more about and to get your schedule setup to make your DockerCon life that much easier when you get there.  Use the keyword search bar or filter by areas of interest, topics, days, tracks, experience level, job role or target audience to get recommended sessions and help build your schedule.

A really nice feature of the DockerCon Agenda Builder is that it can generate recommendations based on your profile and your marked interest sessions.  To unlock the recommendations feature, you need to make sure you are signed up for a DockerCon account.  Within the tool, you'll be able to adjust your agenda, rate sessions and take live notes to reference back once the conference is over.  All of your selection features will be available in the DockerCon mobile app after installation.

DockerCon will also have two summits happening on Thursday, October 19th. The Moby Summit, a hands-on collaborative event for advanced container users who are actively maintaining, contributing or generally interested in the design and development of the Moby Project and it's components.  And the Enterprise Summit, a full day event for enterprise IT practitioners who want to learn how they can embrace the journey to hybrid IT and implement a new strategy to help fund their modernization efforts.

Dockercon is about learning, sharing and connecting, where conversations among attendees can be as valuable as any session.  So make sure to check out the Hallway Track at DockerCon.  It will help you meet and share knowledge with other community members and practitioners at the conference in a structured and fun format.  This community collaboration was introduced at DockerCon in Austin with a high degree of success and was called Moby Mingle.  So with that success, the community program is being expanded even further in Copenhagen.

DockerCon Hallway Track is a one-on-one or group conversation based on topics of interest that you schedule with other attendees during DockerCon.  Hallway Track's recommendation algorithm curates an individualized selection of Hallway Track topics for each participant, based on their behavior and interests.

It's simple:

  • Explore the knowledge Offer and Requests - where all participants post the knowledge they are willing to share.
  • Pick something you want to learn or create your own Offer or Request.
  • Book your Hallway Tracks and meet in person at the Hallway Track Lounge!

Make sure you try it out.

Oh yeah, and don't forget to unwind, unplug and have some fun at the DockerCon Party.  The Docker team put together a fantastic party at the Austin DockerCon event.  So make sure to attend the party at the old Train Workshop, close to Copenhagen Central Station.  Test your gaming skills, walk among laser beams destroying asteroids and enemy spaceships, control life sized Tetris bricks and challenge others in a game of Pong.  Should be a great time!
