IGEL, a world leader in endpoint management software for the secure enterprise, announced today that CRN, a brand of The Channel Company, has recognized IGEL with a 2017 CRN Tech Innovator Award. These annual awards honor standout hardware, software or services that have helped to move the IT industry forward. In compiling the 2017 Tech Innovator Award list, CRN editors evaluated 216 products across 32 technology categories using several criteria, including technological advancements, uniqueness of features and potential to help solution providers solve end users' IT challenges. IGEL's revolutionary micro thin client, the IGEL UD Pocket (IGEL OS on a bootable, thumbnail-sized USB drive) earned top honors in the "PC - Workstation/Desktops/AiOs" category.

IGEL UD Pocket is a groundbreaking micro thin client device which enables remote and mobile workers to access cloud services, server-based computing applications and virtual desktops by plugging a tiny device into any x86 machine, including Macs. After connecting to the internet, it automatically integrates into the IGEL Universal Management Suite (UMS) for secure remote support, deployment and management. UD Pocket extends the functionality of existing hardware by enabling a second tightly managed operating system to run on an endpoint. Once the user has finished accessing their virtual desktop environment through the IGEL UD Pocket, they can simply reboot their principal OS and return to the original desktop. UD Pocket delivers any device, any application and any cloud solution that is foundational to a modern, mobile, software defined thin client solution.

"The IGEL UD Pocket makes implementing secure, endpoint computing fast, easy and cost effective," said Jed Ayres, President and CEO, IGEL North America. "It's quickly becoming a favorite new product among our channel and alliance partners. It's an ideal solution for remote workforces, distributed organizations, and contract workers that require controlled access to an IT-managed network, and it also gives aging desktop devices new life. We've seen organizations literally save millions of dollars deploying the UD Pocket and then use their savings towards other strategic IT initiatives. Thank you to the CRN editorial staff for recognizing the IGEL UD Pocket with a 2017 Tech Innovator Award."

"The vendors and products on CRN's Tech Innovator list represent some of the most creative and forward-thinking achievements yet seen in the IT channel," said Robert Faletra, CEO of The Channel Company. "We are honored to celebrate their ingenuity and the growth they are driving across the industry, from increased worker productivity and sales to expanded solutions for complex problems and trailblazing innovation."

The Tech Innovator Awards will be featured in the December issue of CRN and can be viewed online at
