Airtasker Achieves 12x Increase in Automation Efficiency with BrowserStack
BrowserStack, the most reliable browser and mobile app testing platform on the market, today announced that Airtasker, a trusted marketplace for task outsourcing, has selected BrowserStack as its partner to provide continuous delivery and high-quality applications to end users. Leveraging BrowserStack Live and BrowserStack Automate, Airtasker cut its testing time down from three hours to 15 minutes, resulting in a 12x increase in productivity.

Airtasker is a trusted community marketplace for people to outsource tasks, find local services or complete flexible jobs to earn money. Airtasker needs to be able to provide high quality experience to its more than two million users on the platform every time they ship code. As the company grows in popularity, it continues to add more functionality, thereby increasing the need for sustainable ways of ensuring a bug free application.

"Before implementing the right tools for our testing needs, we faced a huge backlog of features that had to be checked for quality assurance," said Kanak Kalburgi, senior automation engineer at Airtasker. "We release new versions of our mobile apps each week, so we needed to build up an automation framework to enhance end-to-end testing from the ground up. To ensure all of our bread-and-butter scenarios work, we use BrowserStack every 30 minutes, every day, to create a massive library of tests, enabling us to maximize our quality assurance resources and to continue achieving our goal of continuous delivery. Now, we don't ship code until BrowserStack gives us the green light."

Airtasker relies on multiple BrowserStack solutions to achieve continuous integration and continuous delivery, including BrowserStack Live to manually verify Airtasker across browsers, and BrowserStack Automate for automated cross-browser testing. Airtasker also leverages the recently announced App Automate, which enables users to run automated tests for mobile apps on the BrowserStack Real Device Cloud.

"Rapidly growing organizations often don't have time to reinvent the wheel and task developers with building their own infrastructure to test browsers, devices and apps," said Ritesh Arora, co-founder and CEO of BrowserStack. "BrowserStack was built by developers for developers, so our main focus is to support the needs of front-end and back-end teams - like those at Airtasker - that have aggressive goals of deploying quality code multiple times per day. Automated testing is critical for organizations needing to scale quickly, and BrowserStack is here to scale with them."

Today's news comes on the heels of BrowserStack's $50 million Series A investment from Accel, and the opening of its North American headquarters in San Francisco. BrowserStack also recently announced its most recent product offering App Automate, which is available now with pricing starting at $199 a month
