Armor, a
leading cloud security solutions provider, announced today that Mark
Woodward, 40-year veteran of the information technology industry, has
joined Armor's leadership team as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Armor
Founder and former CEO Chris Drake is stepping into the Chief Technology
Officer (CTO) role as product strategist and evangelist and will
continue as a member of the Board.
"Armor
is in a unique position to be the ‘definitive leader' of cloud
security, and I am very excited that Mark is joining Armor to help
realize that vision," said Drake. "Armor is growing quickly and in a
strong financial position, and it is time to double-down," continued
Drake. "I am confident that adding Mark to the team will enable Armor to
reach new heights."
According
to Drake this move will also allow him to focus more attention on
several parts of the business which he is very passionate about,
including developing key strategic partnerships, creating large business
opportunities, and advancing Armor's long-term product vision.
Woodward,
a three-time CEO, has extensive experience in successfully growing
software companies. He served as President and CEO for E2open, a
cloud-based, supply chain management company, which he took public in
2013 and sold to Insight Venture Partners in 2015. Woodward was also the
longtime President and CEO of Serena Software, an infrastructure
software company, which he helped take public in 1999. He then oversaw
its sale to Silver Lake for $1.2 billion. Woodward has worked as
Chairman and CEO of Invoca, a marketing automation technology company,
in addition to holding executive roles at McAfee and Legent.
"I
am truly honored to be joining Armor," said Woodward. "Under Chris'
exceptional vision and leadership, Armor has grown to become one of the
most respected cloud security solutions providers in the industry.
Working together, I know that we can accelerate the company's growth and
further extend our markets, all while ensuring that our customers'
critical data is safe."
