IGEL, a
world leader in endpoint management software for the secure enterprise, today
announced it has posted record sales in the UK for the period January to June
2018.
The business saw its thin client hardware
sales increase 59% year on year and its UD Pocket software achieve exceptional
traction in the marketplace. Growth in licence sales was up an impressive
1,065%. The size of a paperclip, IGEL announced UD Pocket in December 2016 with
product shipping at the beginning of 2017. The percentage growth performance
therefore reflects the first full year on year sales comparison available.
UD Pocket is the industry's first thin client
solution to convert any Intel x86 based desktop a VDI thin client without over
writing the local OS. It is ideal for companies who want to add mobility into
their environment by allowing staff to work from home or bring their own
devices into the workplace. UD Pocket comes on an USB stick and once plugged
in, the local device boots up IGEL's LINUX OS from it allowing the user to access
their corporate IGEL desktop with all the corporate security policies
automatically applied. Once the user has finished, removing UD Pocket means the
local device reverts back to its original state and existing OS.
In addition, sales of IGEL's Universal
Desktop Converter software (UDC) - a solution which permanently converts any
x86 laptop or PC into a thin client irrespective of manufacturer - was up 18%.
This reflects the desire of many organisations to save money by transforming
and extending the life of older IT assets into centrally controlled LINUX-based
IGEL thin clients.
IGEL's focus on endpoint software to simply
and securely manage the whole desktop environment is a clear differentiator and
is resonating with customers especially as external factors like the WannaCry
ransomware attack last year showed the vulnerability of poorly managed and aged
desktop estates.
Andrew Gee, IGEL's VP sales for Northern
Europe, says, "We're laser focused on endpoint management and the user
experience - it's all we do - with our products designed to allow customers to
transition to the cloud as and when they want. And we're agnostic when it comes
to the back end VDI system and whether public, private or hybrid cloud
solutions are used - we provide a clear migration path so that investment in
the desktop devices is maximized. It explains why our numbers for the first
half of 2018 are so strong."
As a result of IGEL's excellent commercial
performance, the business is actively recruiting. A list of all open positions
