Vapor IO Hosts Third Edgecon Conference in Los Angeles, September 11-12, 2018

Vapor IO, the leading provider of edge computing infrastructure and colocation, today announced Edgecon LA, a two day gathering in Los Angeles focused on edge computing. By invitation only, Edgecon assembles top industry leaders for its trademark presentations, brainstorming and high-impact networking sessions. Following successful events in Aspen and Barcelona, Edgecon Los Angeles is hosted by Vapor IO and Crown Castle and takes place September 11-12, 2018 during Mobile World Congress Americas.

Edgecon travels the world delivering a unique and intimate gathering of edge computing's most visionary builders, dealmakers and decision-makers. Edgecon LA will coincide with Mobile World Congress Americas 2018 and will include participation from the top wireless operators, public cloud providers, infrastructure owners and edge computing developers. Together, attendees will shape the future of edge computing, discuss requirements for early rollouts, and meet potential partners.

Current speakers include:

  • Cole Crawford, CEO and founder, Vapor IO: Cole is one of the leading thinkers in edge computing today. With over 20 years of data center experience, and numerous patents for edge technologies, Cole is a sought out speaker and instigator, and is the founder of Edgecon.
  • Brenna M. Berman, executive director of City Tech Collaborative and former CTO, City of Chicago: With more than 15 years of experience leading business and technology innovation, Brenna focuses on developing new solutions, strengthening the relationship between cities and their constituent, and implementing strategies aimed at helping government organizations meet their goals through data-driven decision making.
  • Rob High, fellow and VP, technology strategy at IBM: Rob is CTO for IBM's Watson Solutions, driving Cognitive Systems development for the application of deep natural language processing in inferring answers from massive quantities of unstructured information.
  • Zachary Smith, co-founder and CEO of Packet: Zachary has spent his last 16 years building, running and fixing public cloud infrastructure platforms. As the CEO of Packet, Zachary is responsible for the company's strategic product roadmap. Prior to founding Packet, Zachary was an early member of the management team at Voxel, a NY-based cloud hosting company sold to Internap in 2011, that built software to automate all aspects of hosting data centers.

The EdgeCon Los Angeles agenda is as follows:

  • Opening Night Mixer: Evening of September 11; exclusive opening night networking event at the Manhattan Beach art studio of Bo Bridges.
  • VIP Luncheon: Noon on September 12; two speakers and a panel deliver the real stories from the frontiers of edge computing in this one-of-a-kind lunch-and-learn.
  • Rooftop Party: Evening of September 12; a take over of the Ace Hotel's rooftop lounge for a who's who evening of edge computing.
