Exabeam announced today the appointments of Manish Sarin to
chief financial officer (CFO) and Rajiv Taneja, to executive vice president of
Engineering. Sarin and Taneja will report to CEO Nir Polak. Sarin will assume
responsibility for Exabeam's finance organization, in addition to overseeing
legal and human resources. Taneja will lead the software engineering team and
provide strategic direction on product innovation.
"Exabeam has seen tremendous growth in billings and customer
additions this year," said Polak. "I am thrilled to add Manish to my leadership
team and work with him on our financial strategy, as we look to displace Splunk
in the SIEM market, evaluate acquisition targets and evaluate a public
offering."
The company's growth has allowed Exabeam to claim a piece of
the security information and event management (SIEM) market, with 250 percent
market growth in 2017 and 300 percent growth in 2016. Exabeam is using a recent
$50 million funding round to expand its global presence by expanding their
cloud portfolio. They are on track to more than double their market size before
the end of 2018.
Sarin brings more than 20 years' experience to his role.
Prior to joining Exabeam, he was an executive vice president of Corporate
Planning and Development at Proofpoint since 2012, responsible for financial
strategy, acquisitions and investor relations activities. Sarin also led
strategy and corporate development efforts for the Software and Security groups
at HP and was an investment banker at Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan. He will be
based in Exabeam's San Mateo office.
"SIEM is one of the fastest growing segments in security and
is ripe for disruption," said Sarin. "I look forward to working closely with
Nir and the executive team to craft a development plan that seizes on key
market opportunities for the company to continue its impressive growth."
Taneja's engineering expertise will push the company forward
to reach their goal to disrupt the SIEM space to become the next market leader,
particularly in the areas of cloud and AI.
"Rajiv's extensive engineering experience will help sustain
our trajectory as a transformative leader in the SIEM market," commented Polak.
"He thoroughly understands technology development, as well as innovative
methods we want to use, to help customers protect their businesses from evolving
security threats. His approach and discipline will ensure our development
efforts align with our overall company direction."
Taneja's engineering career spans more than 20 years. He
joins Exabeam from Cisco where he was vice president of Engineering in the
Networking and Security Group. At Cisco, Rajiv managed a $150 million annual
budget, and led a team of more than 650 people in the United States, Australia,
India and China. Prior to Cisco, he held executive engineering roles at IGT,
Silver Spring Networks and Motorola. His domain expertise includes IoT,
security and cloud enablement. He will be based in Exabeam's San Mateo office.
"I am exhilarated to be leading a team that is
poised to overtake the SIEM market leader," said Taneja. "As cyberthreats
continue to evolve, it is more critical than ever to leverage innovations like
AI and machine learning, to help our clients predict security incidents and
enforce response postures. I am eager to work with Exabeam's brilliant
engineers, as well as its partners, to ensure our solutions provide the best
possible outcomes for businesses."
