Pivot3 Recognized as a Challenger in November 2018 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hyperconverged Infrastructure

Pivot3, a hyperconverged infrastructure performance and technology leader, today announced that it has been recognized by Gartner, Inc. as a Challenger in the November 2018 Magic Quadrant for Hyperconverged Infrastructure.

According to the report, "Hyperconverged infrastructure (HCI) is a category of scale-out software-integrated infrastructure that applies a modular approach to compute, network and storage on standard hardware, leveraging distributed, horizontal building blocks under unified management." In total, 14 HCI vendors were evaluated based on their completeness of vision and ability to execute.

"We believe our positioning again in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Hyperconverged Infrastructure speaks to our ability to compete in this increasingly crowded market. In our view, this is a testament to our performance and dedication to building an intelligent platform that provides true business value to customers," said Ron Nash, CEO, Pivot3. "Pivot3 has seen incredible momentum, including expanding our product portfolio and broadening our reach into APAC, LATAM and EMEA; increasing the number of deal contributions from partners by 275 percent; and landing some of our biggest deals to date for customers that need security, resilience and manageability at scale for multiple mixed workloads. It's great that we continue to be in the Magic Quadrant."

In Q1-Q3 2018, Pivot3 experienced more than 50-percent growth over the same period in 2017, with 86 percent of new bookings from large enterprises and a 95-percent increase in average deal size. The company also saw increased demand for its hybrid cloud solutions, which represented more than 60 percent of new sales, as well as expansion of Internet of Things (IoT) use cases, particularly in Smart City initiatives through its global strategic partnership with Lenovo.

Over the past year, Pivot3 has continued to expand its product portfolio to address emerging use cases. Its new Intelligent Edge Command and Control platform is a ruggedized and size, weight and power-optimized hybrid cloud solution that supports sophisticated analytics, virtual desktop infrastructure and IoT use cases for defense, intelligence and other extreme operations at the tactical edge. Pivot3 also recently launched a new large-scale IoT solution designed to support mission-critical deployments of 500TB or more with greater resilience, scale and ease of use, fundamentally altering the economic equation for customers in large IoT data capture scenarios.

"We believe our growth and consecutive positioning in the Magic Quadrant indicates that the market is increasingly aware of Pivot3 and the power of our intelligence engine to simplify management at scale as well as deliver the security and resilience needed to support mission-critical workloads," said Nash. "With our proven technology for mixed workload support and policy-based management controls, customers know they can count on Pivot3 to continue delivering industry-leading technology innovation in HCI, and high-performance solutions when and where they need them."
