#CitrixSynergy 2019 Q&A: Pivot3 Will Showcase Its HCI Platform and Policy-based Intelligence Engine at Booth 606

Citrix Synergy QA

Are you attending Citrix Synergy 2019 in Atlanta?  If so, I invite you to add Pivot3 to your MUST SEE list of vendors.

With so many vendors exhibiting at Citrix Synergy this year, how do you know which booths to visit and who to get on your busy schedule?  VMblog has been following Pivot3 for years, and with each show that we visit with them, we always walk away learning something new and important.  The company's intelligent hybrid cloud and IoT solutions provide security, resilience and management simplicity at scale for customers' mission-critical environments.  Powered by its Intelligence Engine, Pivot3 automates the management of multiple, mixed application workloads, delivers industry-leading performance at scale, eliminates unplanned downtime and reduces the cost of traditional IT infrastructure by half or more.

Read this exclusive pre-show interview between VMblog and Vikram Belapurkar of Pivot3 to learn what the company has planned for the upcoming Synergy 2019 event.

VMblog:  As a Citrix Synergy 2019 sponsor, give us the rundown of your booth setup this year.  How can attendees find you?

Vikram Belapurkar:  Pivot3 will be at booth #606.

VMblog:  What type of theme do you have planned for this year's booth?

Belapurkar:  Pivot3 offers industry's only HCI platform with a policy-based intelligence engine. Our platform's data path is optimized for NVMe flash. We are showcasing how these leading-edge, innovative capabilities reduce infrastructure footprint for VDI while ensuring a consistently superior user experience and flexible scalability.

VMblog:  Why should a Synergy attendee add you to their MUST SEE list?

Belapurkar:  Visit Pivot3 (Booth#606) to learn how new innovative technologies are transforming VDI. Attendees will learn how Pivot3's NVMe flash optimized multi-tier architecture works, how our policy-based Intelligence Engine eliminates performance tuning, and how a wide selection of scaling form factors coupled with our distributed architecture simplify growth planning. We have recently published a Citrix reference architecture with Windows 10 that showcases market leading densities. Attendees can learn more about this reference architecture as well as Windows 10 best practices.

VMblog:  If an attendee visits your booth, what's the big message that they will take back to work with them?

Belapurkar:  Pivot3 slashes total hardware required for VDI while delivering ultra-sharp user experience and simple flexible scalability from 100s to 10,000s of users. With the industry's most advanced HCI platform, Pivot3 has strong track record in VDI with many mission-critical deployments around the world.

VMblog:  Give readers a few reasons why your product or service is considered unique and differentiated from the competition.

Belapurkar:  At the Pivot3 booth, attendees will learn how new infrastructure paradigms and software-based intelligence are transforming VDI and minimizing risk. We will discuss some unique and differentiated architectural aspects of Pivot3 HCI and why those matter in VDI environments. Some highlights include:
  • The industry's only NVMe flash optimized architecture that is managed by its Intelligence Engine, resulting in highest densities and consistent user experience.
  • We use our advanced Erasure Coding for high availability, resulting is far greater usable capacity and vastly superior performance when compared to vendors that use cross-node replication methods.
  • The industry's most flexible platform with many form factors and scaling options that include compute, storage and GPU optimized nodes.

VMblog:  How does your company work or partner with Citrix?  What value add do you provide?

Belapurkar:  We are a long-standing Citrix partner with many common channel partners. Pivot3 is also a member of Citrix Partner Advisory Board. Pivot3 optimizes Citrix VDI by reducing hardware footprint and TCO, ensuring ultra-sharp user experience without administrative overhead, and enabling seamless scalability for Citrix VDI as the deployment grows from pilot to wide-spread adoption.

VMblog:  What would you say to prospective attendees who are thinking about attending Synergy but aren't sure if it's worth it or not?

Belapurkar:  Citrix Synergy is a great event to learn about latest developments in VDI technologies. It presents many opportunities for hands-on trainings and learning sessions. Its an event where you can meet every vendor who is serious about VDI market, so you can get to understand their technologies and improve your VDI outcomes.

VMblog:  Why do you think the EUC market is picking up steam right now?  What's changed?

Belapurkar:  EUC has been a big market for last few years and it will continue to remain so. VDI helps solve real challenges around manageability of desktops, security of corporate assets and end-user productivity. These are compelling reasons for enterprises to adopt VDI. Until recently, the infrastructure supporting VDI was a bottleneck when hosting IO dense VDI environments. More recently, the infrastructure technologies have improved to support the resource demand VDI places on underlying infrastructure. Desktop and app delivery technologies have also evolved and matured. As a result, VDI is now living up to its promise and is within reach for many organizations. We expect this trend to accelerate and VDI to become accessible to a broader set of organizations.
