CTERA today
announced it
has been awarded a statewide IT contract to deliver next-generation
edge-to-cloud file services through the Texas Department of Information
Resources (DIR). The DIR Cloud Services agreement enables entities in
the State of Texas and other participating states
to quickly deploy and manage CTERA solutions for remote branch storage,
enterprise file sync and share (EFSS), data protection, and more.
CTERA's proven and unified Enterprise File Services Platform helps
government
and enterprise organizations seamlessly transition from traditional
file storage systems to secure cloud-based solutions that can reduce
total cost of ownership (TCO) by as much as 80 percent. DIR customers
have the choice to purchase and manage the CTERA
platform within their own infrastructure or to leverage CTERA's secure cloud managed services offering without compromising
the security and performance of their data.
The Texas DIR
provides oversight of information, data, and technology for state and
local government and education agencies. With CTERA already deployed in
many U.S. government agencies, including the State
of Texas, the DIR cloud services contract helps simplify and accelerate
IT procurement of the CTERA platform through an online
portal.
CTERA enables DIR customers to address the full range of enterprise file services and use cases, including:
- Office
Storage Modernization: All-in-one edge filers that replace legacy file
servers and intelligently tier file data to cost-effective and scalable
object storage
- Multi-Site
Collaboration: Global file system technology enables distributed
offices to access and collaborate on file data within a single namespace
- Endpoint
File Sharing and Backup: Secure file collaboration and data protection
solutions delivered from the same software client for Windows, Mac, and
Linux machines
"State and local
government customers are finding greater levels of employee productivity
and TCO reduction through the modernization of aging file services
infrastructure," said Richard Elliott, SVP Operations,
CTERA. "CTERA is pleased to partner with Texas DIR to offer state
customers a highly secure and unified platform to accelerate cloud IT
initiatives."
