Cohesity today announced that its software-defined data management platform now supports AWS GovCloud (US),
providing government agencies with a unique and modern approach to back
up, manage, and gain insights from their data across hybrid cloud
environments. Through this integration, Cohesity is providing a
comprehensive solution that offers AWS customers broad data management
capabilities for secured government clouds that include backup and
recovery, long-term retention, analytics, and protection of Amazon EC2
compute infrastructure, all on a single web-scale platform.
In addition, Cohesity has become a member of the AWS Public Sector Partner Program by
demonstrating a high level of technical proficiency and customer
success so that the two companies can better deliver tightly integrated
solutions and a seamless experience on behalf of government clients.
Cohesity Helps Government Organizations Address Mass Data Fragmentation
Cohesity DataPlatform provides exceptional backup, enhanced security, and ransomware detection.
Government agencies can now extend the software-defined platform they
use for on-premises workloads to manage and protect AWS GovCloud,
enabling a broad new range of hybrid and cloud-native use cases for
data.
Many
public sector organizations - particularly federal agencies - use AWS
GovCloud to take advantage of secure cloud infrastructure while
maintaining compliance with numerous mandates around sensitive datasets
and workloads. Cohesity empowers these customers to also solve the
critical challenge of mass data fragmentation,
where massive volumes of data are spread across fragmented
infrastructure silos and clouds that can be hard to back up, manage, and
analyze. Cohesity consolidates these silos on a single platform
spanning data center, cloud, and edge environments, ushering in a new
era in data management that unlocks opportunities to make data more
productive.
"Bringing
Cohesity's unique data management capabilities to AWS GovCloud empowers
government agencies to harness the benefits of hybrid cloud
infrastructure through an efficient and easy-to-use platform that
eliminates mass data fragmentation," said Steve Grewal, CTO, federal and
eastern U.S., Cohesity. "We're excited to expand the capabilities we
provide our public sector customers so they can benefit from modern and
efficient data infrastructure that helps them do more with their data."
New Partnership With AWS Drives Greater Collaboration
By
becoming a member of the AWS Public Sector Partner Program, Cohesity is
now providing a streamlined path for more government customers to take
advantage of its radically simple data management capabilities. As an
AWS Technology Partner, Cohesity has proven its value and met stringent
collaboration requirements to better serve joint customers. This
includes thorough testing of joint solutions and making them generally
available on AWS, as well as deeper collaborations between AWS and
Cohesity public sector teams with the goal to deliver the best customer
experience.
Cohesity
and Amazon's public sector partnership builds on the two companies'
long-term collaboration, which has introduced many innovative solutions
and created a rapidly growing list of joint customers.
"Cohesity
is providing innovative solutions that give our customers options to do
more in the cloud while supporting strict data management
requirements," said Brendan Walsh, senior vice president, partner
relations, 1901 Group. "Mass data fragmentation is a challenge for many
federal agencies, so this partnership streamlines and enables data
management and protection."

DataPlatform on AWS GovCloud is available through a "Bring Your Own
License" model, and can be purchased as a software subscription.
