New InstallAware DiskZIP Secures Disks Against Ransomware and Malware Attacks, Enhances User Privacy, and Preserves Performance
InstallAware Software, the technology leader in software installation, repackaging, and virtualization solutions for application producers and enterprises, is launching InstallAware DiskZIP today. InstallAware DiskZIP secures Windows Desktop users from ransomware and malware attacks by substantially reducing their attack surface to a very limited delta.

DiskZIP's transparent disk compression builds a compressed disk image file, which is locked by the operating system during boot, safely out of reach of all known malware. All applications, user files, and operating system settings are secured within, and transparently accessed from, this compressed disk image.

In addition to malware, in the event that mandatory operating system updates, application configuration errors, or even user errors inadvertently damage a PC; DiskZIP restores the PC to the exact state it was in when it had last been compressed through the one-click "System Refresh" option. Should the Windows Desktop be inaccessible due to the extent of the damage, all data is still safe and easily recoverable when the drive containing the compressed disk image file is attached to any PC externally.

DiskZIP also reinforces privacy by reducing the extent of a user's cloud exposure. Without having to delete a single file, DiskZIP creates 5,5 GB extra disk space on a clean Windows 10 installation. These space savings apply to all third-party applications and user data too - for example, on a Windows 10 installation with InstallAware present, DiskZIP creates 22 GB of extra disk space - ensuring fully uninterrupted and secure access to all data, locally stored, away from all prying eyes threatening the cloud!

DiskZIP's security and privacy benefits do not come at the cost of performance. In fact, a DiskZIP compressed disk has completely unaffected disk write speeds. Disk read speeds are marginally accelerated in some scenarios, while being marginally decelerated in others - resulting in a net-zero-sum performance impact. In the good tradition of InstallAware, DiskZIP delivers a win-win scenario all around!
