Windocks Announces Rancher Labs Partnership for SQL Server Cloud Native Support

Windocks, a leader in Windows SQL Server containers and database cloning, today announced its integration with Rancher Labs. Now available in the Rancher catalog, Windocks integrates SQL Server containers and cloned databases with Rancher for users to run databases, CI/CD applications, and SQL Server Report Services, under the control of Kubernetes.

"Rancher is a powerful choice for enterprises looking to run containers and Kubernetes," said Ramesh Parameswaran, CEO of Windocks. "Partnering with Rancher and being available in the Rancher catalog allows customers to modernize Windows SQL Server development and production workflows, preserving investments in SQL Server while modernizing with cloud-native support."

Rancher deploys Kubernetes clusters anywhere, on any provider and unites them under centralized authentication and access control. Both infrastructure and OS agnostic, the Windocks/Rancher integration allows users to deploy SQL Server databases and mission-critical applications anywhere. Shannon Williams, co-founder of Rancher Labs said, "The combination of Rancher and Windocks gives Kubernetes users a powerful cloud native platform with the management layer needed to maximize their investment in containers, improve production deployment and decrease infrastructure costs."

Windocks combines Windows SQL Server containers with database cloning for all releases and editions of SQL Server, for delivery of secure multi-terabyte production databases for Continuous Integration testing. Windocks allows Kubernetes and Rancher users to modernize existing SQL Server databases to improve application agility, and respond to business changes. Windocks version 4.5 is now available, supporting Active Directory, Windows Auth, with SQL Server Database Engine and Report Services, and Linked Servers.

Windocks will present a Kubernetes Master Class on Managing SQL Server with Kubernetes, on October 1, 2019.
