AppDirect,
the commerce platform for selling subscription products through any
channel, today announced it will deliver its core services to Google
Cloud Platform (GCP).
In
addition, AppDirect has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to
tightly integrate AppDirect with GCP, making it easy for channel
partners to resell the full suite of Google Cloud products and
solutions, bundled with a customer or partners' own products and
services. This enables simpler provisioning and billing for IaaS
products, reducing cost of deployment and minimizing churn around
solutions management.
"AppDirect
operates with three fundamental principles: We're open, to easily
connect, integrate and deploy any technology; we're extensible - fully
customizable through APIs and microservices; and we're agnostic to all
technology platforms," said Dan Saks, co-CEO and co-founder of
AppDirect. "Through this new offering and partnership with GCP, we are
extending our commitment to those values. We're especially excited to
leverage the best-in-class Google Cloud services to delight our
customers with new product innovations."
Google
Cloud's fully managed Kubernetes infrastructure allows AppDirect
engineering teams to scale out and easily port their workloads across
multiple cloud environments. AppDirect has been deploying application
containers for years and was a Kubernetes early-adopter. Having a
fully-managed Kubernetes infrastructure service with Google Kubernetes
Engine (GKE) brings many other benefits, including less system
administration work; infrastructure cost reduction; better platform
stability and uptime and increased network performance.
The
tight integration of AppDirect with GCP makes it easy to sell the full
suite of Google Cloud Products bundled with a customers' or partners'
own products and services. Provisioning and billing for IaaS is complex,
and AppDirect simplifies the process to deliver clear, customizable
customer invoicing.
"We're
delighted to expand our relationship with AppDirect to offer their
services on Google Cloud Platform and to create new pathways for our
partners to resell Google Cloud solutions on the AppDirect platform,"
said Kevin O'Kane, Managing Director, Partnerships at Google Cloud.
"AppDirect can leverage Google Cloud's high-performance and reliable
infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and uptime for their users,
while our partners will receive a new channel through which to bundle,
sell, and manage Google Cloud products and solutions."
According
to Gartner, Inc. "The infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and
infrastructure utility service (IUS) market reached nearly $51 billion
in 2018, growing 32.8% (31.5% in constant currency)." AppDirect customers are excited to grow their IaaS business with the outstanding capabilities of the Google Cloud Platform.
