Today at Pure//Accelerate, Pure Storage's annual user conference, Catalogic Software, a developer of innovative data
protection solutions, announced it will be making up to a $5 donation to the Pure Plant a Tree Campaign for every attendee who visits
their booth. In lieu of handing out a pen or a squeeze ball, Catalogic will
provide a donation for both booth scans as well as for visitors completing a
quick environmental survey. Catalogic will be demonstrating its database- and
VMware-aware storage copy automation for Pure Storage FlashArray systems at
booth #608.
"We felt it was time to move beyond handing out tradeshow swag and
doing something that helps out," said Sathya Sankaran, Catalogic Chief
Operating Officer. "We saw that Pure was running a giving campaign and
offering a matching fund, so we decided we would join in the same campaign and
do our part," Sankaran said. "Hopefully they max out their matching
fund through other contributors, and our contribution adds even more on
top."
Every dollar donated to the Pure Plant a Tree Campaign will be used to plant
a tree in an area that needs reforestation. The campaign will be donating to One Tree Planted whose mission is to "make it simple
for anyone to help the environment by planting trees!"
"We greatly appreciate Catalogic joining in to support our campaign and
assisting in our efforts to reduce single-use items at corporate
tradeshows," said Nicole Johnson, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility
at Pure Storage.
Catalogic will be demonstrating its ECX snapshot management software that provides push-button
automation for Pure Storage FlashArray snapshots, replication and clones. By
integrating Pure FlashArray snapshots with critical enterprise databases
(Oracle, SQL Server, InterSystems Caché, SAP HANA) and VMware, ECX allows IT
administrators to ensure rapid database and VM recoverability without the need
for any scripting. Automated and secure copy delivery using FlashArray clones
supports business use cases such as software test-dev, reporting, and data
analytics.
"Our users routinely save vast amounts of time and money because they
no longer have to manually provision and refresh SQL and Oracle Clones or
modify VM clones to support key use cases," said Sankaran.
"Everything is pre-configured and databases and VMs can be spun up,
securely delivered, and cleaned up on a regular schedule. Our RESTful API also
allows for automation through platforms such as vRealize and ServiceNow. One of
our users, a Fortune 50 organization, is managing over 14,000 virtual machines
and thousands of SQL Server databases with a single instance of ECX."
ECX is licensed per Pure storage FlashArray with
no additional cost geared to the number of databases, VMs, users or storage
capacity being managed.
