DCIG's Latest Competitive Comparison Report on Hyperconverged Edge Solutions Now Available
StorMagic, simplifying storage at the edge, announced today the availability of a new third-party Competitive Intelligence Report from DCIG, LLC titled, "A Comparison of How StorMagic SvSAN and Scale Computing Deliver on Enterprise Edge Computing Storage Requirements." The research findings will educate enterprise edge customers as they review leading hyperconverged (HCI) solutions optimized for remote offices and the edge.

The study examines Scale Computing's HC3 series and StorMagic SvSAN in a side-by-side comparison, with several differentiators analyzed in depth, including management capabilities and hardware, software and high availability (HA) configurations.

"StorMagic delivers edge without compromise. SvSAN is a well thought-out solution for customers with many locations, thanks to its minimal hardware and networking requirements to achieve high availability," said Jerome Wendt, president and founder, DCIG, LLC. "SvSAN's witness host option underscores this benefit, because just two servers are required per site to achieve HA at scale. Further, SvSAN delivers flexibility so customers can use any major hypervisor, server and storage devices - even servers they already own."

DCIG's research report dives into StorMagic's witness host feature and illustrates that it not only ensures HA, but can considerably drive down overall solution costs. SvSAN's witness feature is particularly beneficial for organizations with numerous locations that are separated by considerable distances. Alongside uptime and affordability, edge customers seek solutions that offer multiple deployment and configuration options to match unique IT requirements. An SvSAN hyperconverged solution can be deployed as a pre-configured appliance solution from a server vendor, or installed onto any new or existing hardware.

"Flexibility is a key requirement for edge sites, where each location may have different hardware, software and applications running," said Bruce Kornfeld, CMO and GM-Americas, StorMagic. "SvSAN runs on any x86 server, all leading hypervisors, and fits into an end user's existing management framework with no new tools to learn. StorMagic built SvSAN with the edge in mind-to ensure an affordable, flexible and easy to use solution that is an ideal fit for small datacenters found at retail stores, manufacturing sites and small- and medium-sized businesses."
