VMworld
2020 goes digital. Will you be in attendance? If the event were
physical, I would have looked forward to visiting with CloudBolt Software. So we
reached out to them digitally instead.
With the current pandemic, we're seeing a lot of changes taking place
in our normal, everyday lives -- both professionally and personally.
One of those changes is the end of physical trade show events as we move
to socially distance ourselves from one another. While some trade
shows simply cancelled or postponed until 2021, others have made the
switch to a 100% digital format. VMworld, the world's largest
virtualization and cloud computing event hosted every year by VMware, is
one of those shows -- enter for the first time ever, VMworld 2020 Digital.
While a physical VMworld event would normally have north of 150+
sponsors, a digital VMworld event won't be able to effectively support
that number of sponsors.
CloudBolt Software is an enterprise leader in cloud management and integration solutions. Their products are simple, allowing you to achieve unrivaled time-to-value. And today, CloudBolt’s award-winning cloud management platform and codeless integration solutions are deployed in enterprises worldwide for hybrid cloud.

VMblog: With COVID-19, we've seen a lot of changes in
the tech world. One big change has been the disruption of physical trade
shows. Many, like VMworld, have become digital in 2020. What are your
thoughts on digital events compared to traditional physical events?
CloudBolt:
When Covid-19 disrupted our normal life, it was difficult to imagine
how so many people organizations and teams would react to work from
home. However, to everyone's surprise we adapted with a few hiccups.
Technologies like communication tools, virtualization platforms, public
clouds, etc. made it easy to retune ourselves. For CloudBolt, we worked
as if nothing had changed. We miss not meeting our colleagues in person
and eating out with them. However, we have all been more productive. We
also acquired couple of companies, and we are integrating those in. It
seems like we were planning for a day like this and have executed
flawlessly on the script.
VMblog: Can you give us the high-level rundown of your company's technology offerings?
CloudBolt:
CloudBolt has been historically a leading Cloud Management Platform.
However, now with SovLabs and Kumolus being acquired our solution
portfolio has grown tremendously. CloudBolt features a rich set of
capabilities that makes it the leading cloud management platform. With
CloudBolt, you can easily inventory your hybrid cloud environments,
automate and orchestrate IT workload delivery, and manage and track
cloud spend. Rich dashboards provide visibility into your multi-cloud
infrastructure so you can make better decisions. Our extensible
architecture lets you quickly integrate your existing tools with
CloudBolt-ServiceNow, Terraform, Ansible, Chef, and more-so you can
advance your hybrid cloud journey, your way.
VMblog: Talking
about your product solutions, can you give readers a few examples of how
your offerings are unique? What are your differentiators?
CloudBolt:
With our SovLabs and Kumolus acquisitions, CloudBolt will help
enterprises to transform how IT is built, consumed, and governed.
CloudBolt is breaking the mold of a legacy CMP and redefining how
enterprises can leverage a single partner for codeless integrations,
hybrid cloud management and governance.
VMblog: For those
individuals attending the VMworld 2020 digital event, or those who have
attended VMworld in the past, why should they be interested in your
company and solutions?
CloudBolt: vRealize Automation 8 was
introduced earlier last year. This is a complete replatform of the
product, which presents a great opportunity for customers to evaluate
their existing environment before moving to vRA8. SovLabs provides a way
to remove custom code and consolidate blueprints and other
environmental conditions with policy-based services that can easily
migrate to vRA8 when customers are ready to upgrade.
VMblog: What specifically does your company offer a VMware shop or VMware implementation?
CloudBolt:
CloudBolt offers a suite of technologies that help customers better
leverage their VMware investments by extending integration capabilities
to other tools common in enterprise organizations, such as Terraform. By
providing integration and extensibility to vRealize Automation, we're
able to give customers options with their toolsets in a way which
complements existing VMware suites.
VMblog: Normally, VMworld
is the time of year that people in this industry announce a new product
or product update. Do you have anything new that you've recently
announced or plan to announce? Can you give us the details?
CloudBolt:
Earlier this year, we announced the CloudBolt OneFuse Integration
Platform. OneFuse is the first codeless solution for automating,
integrating and extending private and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
OneFuse is the evolution of our vRealize Automation plug-ins which
offered customers a way to meet advanced use cases in vRealize
Automation without incurring technical debt from custom coded
integrations or unmanagable blueprint creation. Now available as an
independent platform, OneFuse still offers the same great benefits for
vRA users while also extending rapid time to value to other tools, such
as Terraform.
VMblog: How does your company work with VMware? Where do you fit within the VMware ecosystem?
CloudBolt:
With CloudBolt's acquisition of SovLabs, CloudBolt now has a strong
bench of VMware experts. SovLabs, now a CloudBolt company, is a VMware
Technical Alliance Partner of the Year, Global Cloud Management and
Automation Partner of the Year, and holds 150+ VMware certifications in
data center virtualization and automation.
VMblog: VMware
will be covering big picture things in their keynote, but what big
changes do you see taking shape in the industry?
CloudBolt:
We were aware that security and monitoring was key for all
organizations. However, with hybrid and multi cloud capabilities being
adopted across enterprises security and monitoring are getting even more
critical. We feel that there would be more end-to-end solutions for
entire IT security including cloud and edge use cases. Plus, the speed
at which technology was developed and consumed is going to multiply
rapidly. For example, IoT, Machine Learning are already transforming
industries. However, they are fragmented. We believe that we will see a
wave of consolidation in this space. This will help enterprises break
the industry boundaries and extend themselves further. At the same time,
many organizations will go very specific. For example, in Healthcare
technology will drive changes from regional medicines to a user-based
medication. Exciting days are still ahead of us.
