Lenovo Delivers Innovation at the Edge, Massive Scalability, Enterprise-Ready AI, and Expanded Lenovo TruScale As-A-Service Offerings at VMworld 2021

Hybrid work is the new reality, accelerating the need for edge to cloud solutions in today's IT deployment models. Today, at VMworld 2021, Lenovo outlined how it is building smarter infrastructure solutions so customers can successfully navigate hybrid and multi-cloud environments. As market needs continue to shift in the commercial and enterprise space, modern data center and IT strategies are at the heart of every business transformation. CIOs are being asked to develop future-proof strategies while solving big-picture challenges and evolving daily operations to meet business goals.

In order to help organizations adapt to this period of accelerated digital and intelligent growth, Lenovo partnered with VMware to develop innovative solutions that enable business agility for VMware environments. Lenovo will showcase these innovations through nine sessions available at http://www.lenovo.com/vmworld. In the sessions, Lenovo will outline how businesses of all sizes can address the demand for an IT infrastructure that is more agile in response to business changes. Additionally, Lenovo will highlight the continued expansion of its Lenovo TruScale as-a-service hybrid cloud solutions, including:

  • Lenovo TruScale Hybrid Cloud with VMware HCI: Lenovo offers a complete hybrid cloud managed service for VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) environments.  Lenovo provides cloud economics for customers looking to accelerate investments in modern application platforms that deliver consistency across all applications, services, and hybrid cloud operating models. The new Lenovo TruScale offering built with ThinkAgile VX HCI platform and VMware Cloud Foundation software deliver complete AAS solutions - HW and SW - so customers can focus on their core business. Rounding out the solution, Lenovo will be a VMware Cloud Provider Program (VCPP) partner, adding VMware SaaS solutions to our AAS portfolio, providing full as-a-service and software subscription consumption models for customers transitioning from perpetual license models to consumption models at their own pace. VMworld Session:  Redefining Edge-to-Cloud OpEx-based Infrastructure Strategies
  • ThinkAgile VX for SAP HANA: Running SAP applications in the cloud while keeping control of data is critical in today's hybrid cloud world. Working with SAP and VMware, Lenovo is the first to provide a massively scalable SAP HANA certified on vSAN solution.  VMworld Session: Cumulus SAP: Large SAP HANA Instances for the Hybrid Cloud
  • VMware Edge Cloud on ThinkSystem SE350: Lenovo is the first to market with a VMware software solution for the edge running on a pair of resilient ThinkSystem SE350. VMware customers will be able to enjoy the same environment they want in their data center, directly at their edge locations, through ordering this integrated and pre-loaded bundle. The solution will simplify networking with built-in switching and wireless connectivity, eliminating the need for external network devices at the edge and allowing for smoother and more seamless operation. The system also includes integrated and pre-loaded VMware Edge Cloud software directly from the factory to the edge site. VMworld Session: Leading Edge: 2-node vSAN clusters centrally managed by vLCM & VMware SASE
  • ThinkAgile VX Integrated System: Lenovo is also expanding its HCI solution capabilities with core partners. The newly enhanced ThinkAgile VX Integrated system provides greater agility and simplicity, enabling customers with more efficient hybrid cloud operations and management. In addition, faster deployment, greater end-to-end management, with enhanced automation, monitoring and troubleshooting will streamline vSAN and VCF platforms to ultimately transform digital business. VMworld Session: Smarter HCI: intelligence, automation, and proactive monitoring for vSAN
  • Enterprise AI: Working with VMware and NVIDIA, Lenovo delivers Enterprise-ready AI on vSphere 7 platforms. The optimized Lenovo AI-ready servers provide best-in-class performance for AI workloads - delivering 20x performance - enabling Enterprise-readiness today, while delivering next-generation AI-ready servers for tomorrow. Additionally, Lenovo is supporting VMware future technology solutions enabling SmartNICs and software-defined memory tiering. The company is driving joint innovation through support of VMware's Project Monterey and Project Capitola with a focus on bringing solutions to the market for joint customers.

Today's organizations need a platform that works across modern and enterprise apps, for developers and operators, from on-prem to the edge and to the local, hybrid, and multi-cloud. Together, Lenovo and VMware are providing the flexibility to embrace and realize these transformational changes. This is why Lenovo received the 2021 VMware Innovation Award for Global Partners. Lenovo is committed to delivering its everything- as-a-service model from infrastructure to end point devices, from edge-to-cloud, and leveraging its global partner ecosystem and channel-first commitment.
