GM Sectec and Commvault partner to offer ransomware readiness and data protection solutions as a service

GM Sectec, a global leader in cyber defense, and Commvault, a recognized global enterprise leader in Intelligent Data Services across on-premises, cloud, and SaaS environments, have partnered globally to jointly offer an integrated solution for ransomware readiness, backup, and data recovery-as-a-service. Together, GM Sectec and Commvault provide businesses with automated disaster recovery and business continuity from large-scale ransomware attacks, with data protection at the edge underpinned by GM Sectec's four geographically displaced Globally Redundant CIRRCs (Critical Incident Response and Replication Centers). The newest offering from GM Sectec -- Data Preserve powered by Metallic -- enables companies to preserve their enterprise critical data for quick recovery in the event of attack, through a simple managed service.

As cybercrime continues to rise, it is imperative for today's organizations to protect their data across hybrid environments, forcing them to re-evaluate their current security strategies. In addition, skills gaps in critical areas like security or cloud management mean that companies are increasingly relying on managed security services for day-to-day operations. Through offering managed security services that provide 24x7x365 eyes on glass prevention and response capabilities to over 50.000 clients and end users worldwide, GM Sectec  eases the burden from their customers for early threat detection and response to cyberattack.

Now, by leveraging Metallic, the industry's leading SaaS-delivered data management from Commvault, GM Sectec is helping customers protect, preserve and recover from large-scale ransomware attacks - with the unique capability to manage data close to the source for fast recovery, wherever their data lives. GM Sectec Data Preserve, powered by Metallic, delivers the full breadth of the Metallic portfolio, offering comprehensive and ultimately scalable data backup and recovery for SaaS applications like Office 365 and Dynamics 365, laptops and desktops, as well as enterprise-critical databases and unstructured data, on-premises or in the cloud.

"We are proud to partner with Commvault, a 10-time leader in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for enterprise backup and recovery software solutions. We have joined forces to deliver a unified solution with everything our customers need to fully protect workloads, applications and data at infinite scale while simultaneously reducing costs and complexity. Organizations worldwide now have access to simple, intelligent and secure data protection delivered as a managed service. It's about helping them focus on growing their businesses without having to worry about the security of their data," said Hector Guillermo Martinez, President of GM Sectec.

"With the unfortunate reality of increasing cyberrisk, it is more important than ever for security and infrastructure operations to go hand in hand. We're thrilled to have GM Sectec as the first Managed Security Service Provider to incorporate Metallic into their service for data protection and recovery," commented Manoj Nair, General Manager of Metallic, a Commvault Venture. "Helping companies to preserve their data in the face of attack is critically important, and through our SaaS-delivered solution, GM Sectec customers can benefit from the trusted leadership of Commvault technology, along with airgapped infrastructure resilience, and the only FedRAMP High Ready data protection solution to meet the most strongest security requirements of the federal government."
