Perception Point Announces Record Year, Triples Both Annual Recurring Revenue and Customer Base for Second Year in a Row

Perception Point announced that it has tripled its annual recurring revenue (ARR) and customer base for the second year in a row. Strategic global partnerships accelerated growth, including the launch of the Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud's Advanced Email Security pack powered by Perception Point and the introduction of Advanced Threat Protection for Amazon S3 Buckets, available on AWS Marketplace.

In the second quarter of  2021, the company successfully raised $28 million in Series B funding led by Red Dot Capital Partners and joined by global investor NGP Capital, with participation from existing investors Pitango Venture Capital and State of Mind Ventures (SOMV). The funding fueled the company's rapid growth, including the expansion to new markets, acceleration of product innovation and doubling the team across all business departments, with a focus on R&D, product, and go-to-market.

Another milestone in 2021 was the launch of the Perception Point Free Plan. The Free Plan, with no limit on the number of users, scale and deployment period, is designed to provide security experts with the ability to easily and at no risk, improve their detection capabilities, and accurately assess their current security gaps, by allowing an evaluation of which threats the current security solution misses and Perception Point catches. Supported applications include Google Gmail, Microsoft 365, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams, Google Drive, and Dropbox.

Perception Point has also been acknowledged as a Representative Vendor in Gartner's 2021 Market Guide Report for Email Security for the third year in a row, in the Integrated Cloud Email Security (ICES) category. 

In the report, Gartner notes that "Advanced email security capabilities are increasingly being deployed as integrated cloud email security solutions rather than as a gateway. These solutions use API access to the cloud email provider to analyze email content without the need to change the Mail Exchange (MX) record. Integrated solutions go beyond simply blocking known bad content and provide in-line prompts to users that can help reinforce security awareness training, as well as providing detection of compromised internal accounts. Initially, these solutions are deployed as a supplement to existing gateway solutions, but increasingly the combination of the cloud email providers' native capabilities and an ICES is replacing the traditional SEG."
