Ready for VMware Explore 2023? Are you attending the show? If so, make sure to get Datamotive on your MUST SEE list.
VMware Explore 2023
is back! And this year, the show is moving to Vegas, taking place at
the Venetian Convention and Expo Center, August 21-24, 2023.
Get
ahead of the game by reading this exclusive pre-show interview between
VMblog and Yogesh Anyapanawar, Co-Founder and CEO at
Datamotive.
VMblog: If you were giving a VMware Explore attendee
a quick overview of the company, what would you say? How would you describe the company?
Yogesh Anyapanawar: Datamotive is an enterprise workload portability company that enables
the seamless movement of entire workloads across and between public and private
clouds with a flat recovery time of 10 minutes irrespective of the cloud, as
well as the application or its size.. The company comes to market with a
patented solution that protects organization's IT infrastructure for
cross-hypervisor disaster recovery, ransomware recovery and workload mobility
in a hybrid, multi-cloud environment.
VMblog: What made your company sponsor VMware Explore
this year? Why is this a must sponsor
event for your company?
Anyapanawar: VMware is a
leader in the hybrid multi-cloud computing space. Datamotive's solution
addresses the full workload portability problem in the hybrid multi-cloud
computing market . Datamotive enables seamless secure and non-intrusive
movement of workloads across public and private clouds with recovery SLA of 10
minutes, which is a requirement for many organizations who are also attending
this event.
VMblog: Is this your company's first time sponsoring
this event? If so, why this year? If not, what keeps you coming back to this
event?
Anyapanawar: Yes, this is
the first time Datamotive is sponsoring the U.S. event. We were one of the
sponsors for the VMware Explore event in Singapore last year. Following our
recent funding round, we are expanding extensively in North America and intend
to use the VMware platform to showcase our strengths in the business continuity
and cloud mobility space.
VMblog: Can you give us the high-level rundown of
your company's technology offerings?
What kind of message will an attendee hear from you this year?
Anyapanawar: Datamotive has
brought to market a hybrid, multi-cloud full-workload portability platform.
Full-workload probability is defined as the ability to replicate entire
workloads (OS, platform, application, configurations and data) from any cloud
to any other cloud, natively, securely and non-intrusively.
What is an
immediate benefit to our customer is flat recovery SLA of 10 minutes
irrespective of the target cloud and the application (including its size), no
matter what the application size isDatamotive enables cross-cloud disaster
recovery and migration, essentially eliminating the need for a DR site to use
the same platform as its production/primary site, and allowing organizations to
choose which cloud platform to use. The Datamotive replication engine enables
online, agentless, incremental and WAN-optimized replication, while the
recovery engine enables native full-workload recovery with an SLA of 10
minutes.
VMblog: Talking about your product solutions, can you
give readers a few examples of how your offerings are unique? What are your differentiators? What sets you apart from the competition?
Anyapanawar: Our offerings
include Easy Migrate and Easy BCP. Easy Migrate enables organizations to
migrate 50% faster, minimize service disruption with its 10-minute recovery SLA
and test migrations prior to the cutover, maintaining the compliance and
regulatory controls on the migrated workloads with 100% data consistency.
With Easy BCP,
Datamotive addresses all three BCP needs: disaster recovery, snapshot
management and point-in-time recoveries with only oneset of replicated data.
Datamotive reduces the risk of any kind of data loss and or data theft by 70%.
Organizations can consolidate their hybrid cloud disaster recovery into a
single site, reducing operational cost
by 50% The Datamotive technology leverages only native snapshot storage during
steady state DR replication and eliminates any need for compute, and network
resources, significantly reducing DR sites costs and contributing to
sustainability targets of today's organizations. There a quite a few
differentiators with Datamotive, but an important one for our customers is that
Datamotive also allows incremental reverse replication in hybrid environments,
i.e. while doing a ‘switchback' operation, Datamotive will only bring back the
delta changes, reducing egress costs, and more importantly, the time and effort
required to return to normal operations.
VMblog: What specifically does your company offer a
VMware shop or a VMware implementation?
What problems do you solve for them?
Anyapanawar: Datamotive's efforts
align with VMware's vision to make hybrid cloud adoption easy, seamless, and
secure.
With
Datamotive, organizations with VMware environments can now:
- Seamlessly and securely bring workloads back into a
VMware environment from any other private and public cloud.
- Obtain a public cloud for their VMware workloads
- Secure near-shore or far-shore point-in-time
recoveries
- Enable cloud disaster recovery (DR) for their VMware
workloads
- Consolidate
their hybrid, multi- cloud business continuity needs on one platform
VMblog: How does your company work with VMware? Where do you fit within the VMware ecosystem?
Anyapanawar: Datamotive is
a VMware Technology Partner.
VMblog: VMware Explore has typically been a launching
platform for new products from their partner network. At VMware
Explore, will your company be announcing anything new? If so, can you give us a sneak peek? Or, have you launched anything new recently
that you can spotlight for us?
Anyapanawar: VMware Explore
is the first major U.S. industry event for us. We will be demonstrating for
attendees how to achieve full-workload portability, enabling moving workloads
among public and private clouds with a recovery SLA of 10-mins irrespective of
workload type and size. We will be talking about our hybrid cloud migration and
disaster recovery use cases. We will also preview our snapshot management,
point-in-time recoveries and ransomware recovery features. With these features
via a single replication of workloads, Datamotive will enable a different
paradigm for business continuity where workloads are protected in their
entirety and can be recovered natively on any target platform. With this,
organizations can reduce the risk of data loss and data theft by almost 70%
without any comprising the SLA, all from a single view.
VMblog: VMware gets the big stage to deliver their
message during the keynote sessions. If
you were giving the keynote, what big topics would you discuss? What big changes or trends do you see taking
shape in the industry for 2023 and beyond?
Anyapanawar: For some time
now, we know that hybrid cloud strategy will be how cloud and cloud
technologies will be consumed. Many organizations are quite ahead in this
journey while several are yet to start. Understanding the importance of
portability is key in offering organizations a smooth, successful hybrid cloud
adoption. The synergy between FinOps and workload portability becomes important
since organizations must not only assess the financial implications of
operating in the cloud but also ensure that workloads can be efficiently moved
and managed across various cloud providers. Taking in consideration that
Gartner has been mentioning "cloud portability" for a few years now as a
potential solution to seamless operation in the cloud, the blend of financial
optimization and workload portability could define success when it comes to
navigating the cloud landscape.
We are
confident that cloud portability is shifting from an option to a necessity for
organizations. In the light of the current cost pressures, a solution that
delivers portability along with security features in a cost-effective format
can be a real winner.
