VMblog RSA 2024

Are you getting ready for the upcoming RSA Conference, the world's leading information security conference and exposition?  The event is quickly approaching, taking place May 6 - 9, 2024 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco.  This year's theme: The Art of Possible - as we collectively create works that will change our perspective on what we can accomplish. Let's celebrate limitless opportunities, challenge the status quo, and explore new horizons together.

Ahead of the show, VMblog received an exclusive interview with Shai Morag, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Cloud Security at Tenable, the Exposure Management company.

Their session, "It's an Acquired Taste," will explore why having a plan in place for integrating security is crucial, including critical tasks that must be performed within 30 days post-acquisition.

VMblog:  Why is Tenable sponsoring RSA this year?

Morag:  We always look forward to RSAC. Every year that we've participated, we hear from other cybersecurity experts and engage in meaningful interactions while gathering valuable insights. We use it as an opportunity to meet other key partners and vendors in the industry, explore new trends and, most importantly, hear from our current and prospective customers about their challenges and discuss how we can address them. We sponsor RSAC because we believe in the mission and want to be part of the transformation.

VMblog:  What market needs or problems are you addressing in the security space?

Morag:  Customers use Tenable One Exposure Management Platform to continually manage exposure across the cloud, on-premise, and critical OT infrastructure  - and the threats that lurk between them. Consolidate efforts to reduce cyber risk across your entire attack surface - without adding vendors or complexity.

VMblog:  What cybersecurity trends is your company seeing that we should be aware of in 2024 and beyond?

Morag:  Organizations understand the importance of cloud adoption for their future endeavors, driven by the need for agility, scalability and cost efficiency - with security as a top concern. As organizations continue their cloud journey, a few trends emerge:

  • A very large number of organizations are suffering from cloud breaches and reporting real harm from exposed sensitive data.
  • Choosing the right solution is a top priority for security leaders. They're focused on implementing unified solutions that address multiple pieces of the cloud security puzzle including control over identity risk.
  • Ensuring simplicity, usability and better collaboration are paramount to enabling cybersecurity professionals to efficiently and effectively achieve their security objectives, while providing meaningful ROI from security solution investments.
