In an exclusive interview with VMblog, Amy Cannon, Marketing Manager for IT Solutions at LG Electronics USA, discusses the company's six-year partnership with IGEL and their upcoming showcase at IGEL Now & Next 2025.
While many know LG for consumer electronics, their IT/Cloud/Medical Device division is making significant inroads in the End User Computing (EUC) space, particularly with specialized thin clients for healthcare environments. Cannon reveals how LG's combination of high-quality hardware and smart software solutions is helping organizations improve security, streamline IT management, and enhance productivity in cloud-first environments. The company plans to debut their healthcare-optimized 24CR671i-a all-in-one thin client alongside the new portable LG gram Book at this year's event, demonstrating their commitment to innovation in the rapidly evolving EUC market.
VMblog: Tell
us a little bit about your company.
Amy Cannon: Most people know LG for our TVs and
appliances, but we're so much more than that. Our IT/Cloud/Medical Device
division is all about creating innovative solutions for businesses. We focus on
helping organizations stay efficient, secure, and connected with cutting-edge
technology.
VMblog: Talk about your technology. What problems do you solve? And how are you
considered unique?
Cannon: We specialize in thin clients and cloud
devices, which are perfect for modern workplaces, especially in industries like
healthcare. These devices simplify IT management, enhance security, and boost
productivity. What sets us apart is the combination of LG's high-quality
hardware (you know we don't compromise there!) with smart software solutions.
Plus, everything we make is designed to work seamlessly with cloud
environments, making life easier for IT teams and end-users alike.
VMblog: How do you partner with IGEL? What does that partnership look like? How long
have you been a partner?
Cannon: It's been an awesome six years as an IGEL
partner! We integrate IGEL OS into our thin clients and commercial displays,
which creates a secure, cloud-ready experience for industries like healthcare.
Together, we're making it easier for businesses to adopt cloud-first strategies
while keeping things simple and secure.
VMblog: What do you plan to show off at your booth at IGEL Now & Next 2025?
Cannon: Oh, we've got some exciting stuff lined
up! We'll be showcasing our LG 24CR671i-a 23.8-inch all-in-one thin client
designed specifically for healthcare environments. It's got features like an
Intel Pentium N6005 processor, RFID built-in, and hardware TPM 2.0 for
top-notch security. It's also super easy to clean and compliant with medical
standards, so it's perfect for hospitals.
But
that's not all! We're also unveiling our new LG gram Book. This lightweight
laptop is built for professionals who need power and portability on the go.
It's sleek, has a long battery life, and is perfect for staying productive
wherever you are. We can't wait to show how these devices can transform
productivity when paired with IGEL's solutions!
VMblog: What do you like about IGEL Now & Next? What made you sign up as a sponsor?
Cannon: This event is such a great platform to
connect with industry pros and showcase how LG + IGEL can revolutionize IT
strategies. We love how it's all about innovation-it aligns perfectly with what
we stand for as a company. Plus, it's always exciting to see our solutions in
action and hear feedback directly from users.
VMblog: What do you hope to take away from IGEL Now & Next?
Cannon: We're looking forward to learning about
the latest trends in endpoint security and cloud computing-especially in
healthcare-and understanding the evolving needs of IT professionals. It's also
a fantastic chance to network and hear real-world insights from those working
in this space every day.
VMblog: What do you attribute to the growing success of End User Computing?
Cannon: It really comes down to flexibility and
security. With so many people working remotely or in hybrid setups now,
businesses need solutions that let employees access resources from anywhere
without compromising security or efficiency. EUC makes that possible, which is
why it's booming right now.
VMblog: How do you and your solution help with the growth of the EUC market? Where does
your technology fit?
Cannon: Our thin clients and cloud devices are at
the heart of it! We provide the hardware that powers cloud computing and
virtual desktops for organizations across industries. By helping businesses
transition to flexible, secure IT infrastructures, we're driving the growth of
EUC alongside them.
VMblog: Where do you see the EUC market headed?
Cannon: The future is definitely more cloud-based
solutions, tighter security measures, and greater integration of AI and IoT
technologies. There's also a big push toward improving user experience-making
these advanced tools easy and intuitive for everyone to use. At LG, we're
excited to be part of this evolution by creating devices that will power
workplaces of the future!
