Orca Security announced that Orca is the first cloud security platform to support the Model Context Protocol
(MCP), created by Anthropic. Through the new Orca MCP Server, security
teams can now gain instant access to deep cloud telemetry from the Orca
Unified Data Model without directly engaging in the Orca Platform. This
makes it easier than ever to use Claude and any other GenAI chatbot to
quickly and easily understand cloud security risks and compliance gaps.
Since the advent of GenAI, organizations have sought to increase
efficiency by using their private data as context for LLM training and
prompting. However, this requires the correct context to work, and most
AI models do not have a standard method of interfacing with outside
applications and data sources. Anthropic recently open-sourced the Model
Context Protocol to give security teams and developers a standard for
securely connecting data and services from their apps to Claude and
other chatbots to ask questions, create summaries, and better understand
their data.
Through its patented SideScanning and Unified Data Model, Orca provides
the broadest and deepest cloud telemetry available from any cloud
security platform. Orca created the Orca MCP Server so security teams
can securely connect data from their Orca environment with Claude and
other chatbots locally on desktop apps, uncovering key details about
their cloud environments and increasing visibility in a manner that
aligns with their workflow.
"The promise of GenAI was quick, detailed answers to simple, natural
language queries. This reality has largely eluded security professionals
due to a lack of integrations with popular AI tooling," said Gil Geron,
CEO and Co-founder, Orca Security. "Security teams are always under
pressure. They need answers and they don't have time to sift through
reams of data. Universal access to Orca cloud security telemetry through
any AI chatbot gives security professionals the deep cloud security
visibility that would previously have only been accessible as a result
of intensive, manual investigation."
Cloud security insights have always been available to those who know how
to look for them, but uncovering risk has typically meant learning
complicated query languages, juggling multiple interfaces, and sifting
through volumes of cloud security and compliance data. Even for seasoned
security professionals, the process of assessing cloud security risk is
time-consuming, and getting the quick answers required by leadership is
challenging. With the Orca MCP, security professionals can now use
GenAI to investigate their cloud environment, receiving detailed risk
assessments quickly and easily, improving security and reducing human
time spent.
The Orca MCP Server further enhances AI capabilities, such as Orca's AI-Driven Search capabilities,
which enable teams to better understand their cloud by asking questions
in plain language, with more than 50 languages supported. The Orca MCP
Server is available today.
