StarWind Web-based Management functionality provides the ability to easily administrate the StarWind-based infrastructure remotely from a web browser on any device with internet connection. StarWind Web-based Management provides two ways for orchestrating the StarWind environment from a web browser:
- By deploying StarWind Gateway VM – This option allows deploying a Linux-based virtual machine from a template. The VM will further accept incoming HTTP connections and transform them into RDP sessions. After setting up the Gateway VM and a target host, the user will be automatically directed into the RDP session on the target StarWind host after entering the VM IP in a web browser.
- By deploying StarWind Virtual Storage Appliance (VSA) – By following this approach, the user deploys StarWind Virtual Storage Appliance as a Linux-based virtual machine from a template with a built-in HTTP > RDP “proxy” functionality. It can be further used as a full-fledged StarWind node, or for managing the existing StarWind infrastructure.
Both ways are extremely simple to implement and provide a full control over StarWind infrastructure from any remote location from a web browser.
