Wiv launched Wiv Air, a platform that helps enterprises actively manage AI usage within defined budgets. Wiv Air connects to AI providers and tools including OpenAI, Anthropic and Cursor, enabling companies to allocate budgets, enforce spending limits and adjust access for every department, team and employee. Marketing, legal and engineering teams can continue using their existing AI tools while the business controls spending.
As AI spending moves beyond fixed subscriptions to include token-based and other usage-based charges, giving an employee access can also create an open-ended spending commitment. In a survey of nearly 400 businesses reported by The Wall Street Journal, only 11% could accurately forecast their AI spending. For companies using multiple providers, spending and access controls are also scattered across separate consoles.
Wiv Air connects directly to providers through their APIs, without routing AI requests through a gateway or proxy, requiring installation of software agents, or adding latency to AI requests. It syncs with the company’s identity provider, such as Microsoft Entra ID, to attribute usage to employees, teams and departments. Finance and business leaders get a shared view of usage, costs and remaining budgets, with spending from the company’s own AI products alongside employee usage.
“Giving employees usage-based AI without a budget is like handing each of them a company credit card with no limit,” said Roni Karp, Co-Founder and CEO of Wiv. “Companies need control before spending becomes a problem. Wiv Air enforces budgets and adjusts access along the way, so employees can keep working and companies can expand AI use with confidence.”
Wiv Air empowers managers to define policies that adjust access before employees exhaust their budgets. For example, when an employee reaches 70% of their allocated budget, Wiv Air can restrict access to premium models while keeping lower-cost models available. The employee can continue working with AI while preserving the remaining budget. At the spending cap, Wiv Air pauses the associated access through the provider’s API, with controls available at the employee or individual API-key level. Managers can also move unused budget between employees and teams.
Requests for additional budget follow automated approval workflows integrated with Slack, Microsoft Teams, email and task management tools such as Jira. Companies configure approval policies and routing without building internal tools or custom integrations.
Requests reach the appropriate approver, giving employees a clear path to additional budget while keeping spending decisions under company control.
For developers, a Wiv Air extension for Cursor shows individual AI usage and remaining budget inside the editor, where they can also request an increase.
Amdocs uses Wiv Air to govern AI usage across its organization: “Wiv Air gives us a simple, frictionless way to govern AI usage across tens of thousands of users with centralized budget management, real-time alerts, and approval workflows that keep usage and spend under control,” said Rubi Cohen, Director, Cloud Center of Excellence at Amdocs.
Wiv Air is available now worldwide, including through AWS Marketplace, and meets SOC 2 and ISO 27001 security standards.
