Ushering a second wave of generative AI innovations

By Shubham Mishra, co-founder and CEO of Pixis

Generative AI, like any other emerging technologies, starts with infrastructure. In 2023, we focused on building the technology and democratizing it. We saw users utilize, consume, and transform generative AI into the most effective use cases to the point that it has now become a companion for them. It’s become such an integral part of users’ day-to-day functions that they don’t even realize they are consuming it.

However, we are still trying to harness the full potential of generative AI across different use cases. In 2024, the industry will witness major shifts, be it a rise or fall in users and applications. There will be a rise in the number of users, but there will also be a second wave of generative AI innovations where there will be an incremental rise in its applications. Nonetheless, these applications will target HR, legal and healthcare sectors.

Generative AI will transform Hollywood.

In 2024, Hollywood will transform into a cost-per-mile and cost-per-usage structure. With just a click of a button, celebrities will be able to take on more projects across the globe and across categories without any physical effort on their part. Consent and contracts will become of the utmost importance as celebrities will have a larger degree of control over authorizing the use of their likenesses.

Using AI, celebrities will be able to create virtual influencers or characters that are more aligned with their brand, and these entities will be used for marketing, endorsements and interactions with fans, providing them with the ability to offer personalized responses.

Generative AI will be utilized to outweigh transformative use cases.

In the new year, generative AI will be utilized to outweigh transformative use cases, specifically in terms of compression algorithms, which will become faster and smoother. It will enable connectivity to different parts of the world. For example, even with low connectivity in Africa, kids can learn from schools in the U.S. because they’re at a higher resolution.

The resolution could be resolved on the receiver’s end using AI, so that a single person can teach the same lesson, seamlessly translated into 20 different languages; that is transformative. Generative AI can open up educational opportunities and allow kids in different parts of the world to learn from the same teacher.
