How Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Can Help Your Business Survive the Pandemic
One of the biggest challenges businesses have faced amid the unexpected and rapid spread of COVID-19 is how to keep employees productive while adjusting to newly implemented remote work arrangements. This white paper discusses how the adoption of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions has helped organizations remain agile and resilient despite today’s formidable business environment.
The current pandemic created sudden changes to the way most business operate. While remote working is by no means a new concept in the workplace, it became a necessity for many organizations who had no choice but to close their physical office spaces.

There are many solutions on the market that can make remote work easier and more accessible so staff can continue to be productive, regardless of their location. But not all are created equal. A solution should be able to be deployed quickly, ensure the security of confidential data and be easy for both admins and employees to use.

That’s where virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions come into play.

The benefits of using VDI—rapid deployment, inherent security and simplified management—make a compelling case for its suitability as the technology to adapt to today’s new normal and prepare for future disruptions.

Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) is a VDI solution that enables organizations of all sizes to effortlessly deliver applications and virtual desktops to any endpoint device at any time. What’s more, its simple infrastructure makes it easy to implement, manage and scale, while its affordable price point keeps costs down.

The Evolution of Workforce Mobility in the Time of COVID-19 and Beyond
COVID-19 upended conventional workplace practices for many businesses, forcing a great deal to transform their in-office workforces to remote ones practically overnight. As the pandemic drags on, technology solutions such as virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) have made remote work more sustainable by providing employees with wide-ranging and secure access to the tools and applications they need to do their jobs. In this white paper, we discuss what makes VDI essential to the success of mobile
Workforce mobility and the benefits of remote working have become the new workplace standard for many companies as the pandemic continues to keep employees away from physical offices.

In addition to helping propel demand for more mobile solutions (e.g., laptops, thin clients and Bluetooth-enabled accessories), the pandemic has also emphasized the vitalness of virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) solutions in helping enable successful digital workplaces.

Many VDI solutions offer a centralized architecture, which simplifies various IT processes crucial to supporting remote work environments. While there is no shortage of VDI tools out there, Parallels® Remote Application Server (RAS) certainly stands out.

The State of Remote Work in 2021
We surveyed nearly 700 IT decisions makers across a range of industries about their transition to sending employees home to work. This report discusses our findings. Download this free 15-page report to learn about priorities for IT staff when it comes to remote desktops for employees, and what will continue presently and post pandemic.

Remote work looks vastly different than it did just one year ago.  In March 2020, tens of millions of workers around the world shifted to working from an office to working from home due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. We set off to find out how organizations were adjusting to remote work, specifically how desktop virtualization usage has contributed to or influenced that adjustment.

Download the report and learn:

  • What role remote desktops play in supporting remote workers
  • Tips from your peers to make the remote work transition easier
  • The benefits of adopting a remote workforce

Survey Report: Remote Media Workflows for Broadcasters
Survey finds widespread adoption of working offsite that looks to continue post COVID-19. TV Tech magazine early this year undertook a survey to examine remote workflow adoption and usage patterns among television broadcasters and other media organizations. The survey was conducted in partnership with Teradici and fielded between Feb. 1 and March 5, 2021—roughly one year after the World Health Organization declared the COVID-19 outbreak to be a worldwide pandemic.
Overall, the survey found prevalent adoption of remote workflows among broadcasters since the pandemic was declared. A total of 88% of all respondents said their organizations had deployed some form of remote workflow in response to COVID-19. That trend was even more pronounced among TV broadcasting and cable TV network respondents (referred to throughout the rest of this report as “broadcast and cable TV respondents,”) with 93% saying the pandemic prompted adoption of remote workflows.

More broadly, the survey revealed COVID-19 had a major disruptive effect on long-established media workflows. While the primary reason to shift from working at the studio or headquarters was to protect staff from potential virus exposure, the survey revealed several other reasons broadcast and cable TV respondents said their organizations adopted a remote work strategy,
including work schedule flexibility and promoting higher productivity and job satisfaction.
Growth Opportunities for MSPs, ISVs, VARs and SIs in the Post-Pandemic Era
As remote work continues to stick around even as an end to the pandemic draws near, there’s been a surge in demand for virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) and Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) environments. This white paper discusses the many opportunities that have opened for MSPs, ISVs, VARs and SIs to meet this demand. We also explain how the VDI solution Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) can help you offer more value to your clients at a more affordable cost to you.

Remote working as the norm has become a reality for many organizations. Much of the global workforce has become more mobile, leading to an increase in the adoption of digital workspace technologies such as VDI and DaaS solutions.

As more companies turn to these technologies, business opportunities have multiplied for MSPs, ISVs, VARs and SIs. Not all companies have the in-house IT talent to maintain and manage virtualized environments, so third-party service providers offering VDI- and DaaS-related services can step up to fill this gap.

Services that can be offered in this space include:

  • Consulting and assessment of an organization’s VDI/DaaS readiness.
  • Implementation and deployment of VDI/DaaS solutions.
  • Managed services to ensure optimal solution performance.

Partnering with Parallels Remote Application Server (RAS) gives MSPs, ISVs, VARs and SIs even more lucrative opportunities for growth. The features and license model of Parallels RAS allow you to maximize earnings while offering clients an all-in-one VDI solution that takes simplicity, security and cost-effectiveness to a whole new level.
