Security, Hybrid Cloud Management to Top Virtualization Efforts in 2015
Data sovereignty and privacy remain concerns for businesses
considering cloud platform adoption. Cloud-based service providers will establish
more local (aka region-specific) data centers to address the data sovereignty
issues. Local data centers will also facilitate faster data access and improved
end-user experience.
Cloud service providers will develop the features that
facilitate data protection. As more applications are built on top of PaaS,
auto-scaling becomes necessary. More PaaS vendors will produce features that
help to achieve application-aware scaling.
The need for cross-platform virtualization management tools
will increase as more businesses look to drive down costs by implementing
virtualization projects across a combination of VMware, Hyper-V and Citrix
offerings.
Hybrid clouds will find more favor with enterprises. As more
enterprises have their resources on different platforms, the combination of
external cloud computing services and internal infrastructure or application
services promises to be the right way forward.
