The
use of Servers in the Modern days:
Whereas
servers have found their importance in the modern day, they still existed back
in the day. The difference between old ones and the modern ones is the constant
improvement in their technology like memory capacity and their bandwidth. Their
functions have remained the same; which is to host files. Additionally, servers
are reliable since they are unseen, untouched and unused like the same way that
we do to our personal computers. With seamless connectivity, file management
can be done remotely anytime and anywhere in the world.
Servers
virtualization solution have found their importance recently as they provide a
central place for data back-up. This is because in a practical situation,
without a centralized place for storage, there cannot be order and data will be
stored haphazardly.
Flow
of audio and video data within the network:
There
has been a consistent and a continual improvement of the quality of both audio
and video data that is displayed on the internet for others the world to
access. This is because TV shows, radio broadcasts and various other video
clips can all be transmitted through the network. The optic fiber has to a
great extent increased the bandwidth of data that flows through the network. An
advantage of the optic fiber is that video conferences can take place though
the internet at high definition (HD). Whether it is through long or short
distances, the network can allow for data flow at cut-throat speeds.
The
use of Virtualization:
Many
companies are adopting the idea of virtualization due to different reasons.
Some do so in order to address technical issues while other are just
financially motivated. Either way, virtualization serves several purposes.
Conservation of space through consolidation of files is one reason. Companies
will merge several machines into a server which is operating in a virtual environment.
Additionally, redundancy is reduced as similar applications will be run on one
server as opposed to them running on several servers. Thus if one fails, there
is a second option which serves as back-up.
Further
to this, virtualization enables for switching of one system to another in the
event a server becomes obsolete. With the migration technology, servers can be
moved from one point t to another. Even if the processors of machines are
different, it is still possible to move the servers although these processors
should be from one manufacturer.
Integrating
multimedia technologies with Server Virtualization:
For
successful integration of multimedia technologies with server virtualization,
there has to be hardware that supports both technologies. Audio and video data
are voluminous data and since there is a huge demand for them, they require
systems that are much more stable and reliable. An advantage of implementation
of this integration technology enables managing of massive amounts of data from
any place. Additionally, errors associated with this kind of file hosting are
minimized.
The
truth about optimization of servers and using virtualization is that they
require each resource which data passes through to be fully utilized. For
example using hardware that is obsolete will not produce the desired result
even if the network equipment is up-to date. Every tool needs to be efficient
and working properly.
