Celestix Now Offers Virtual Editions of Its Unified Remote Access and SSO Platforms to Enable Easy Deployment in Virtualized Environments

Celestix Networks, the leading provider of secure remote access connectivity solutions, today announced the CelestixEdge VE and CelestixFederated VA Series virtual appliances.

These virtual platforms expand the existing physical appliances under the CelestixEdge E and CelestixFederated A Series portfolio of products, which have proven to simplify the on-premises deployment of unified remote access and single sign-on (SSO). The VE and VA Series address the increasing shift towards virtualization in deployment models where a physical appliance may not be feasible or cost-effective. The new virtual solutions extend flexibility and ease of deployment of core Microsoft Server and Celestix technologies including DirectAccess, Web Application Proxy (WAP), and Active Directory Federation Services (AD FS).

The VE and VA Series are available as a software installer and offer features available on the traditional E and A Series physical appliances. These new virtual editions are aligned with Celestix's vision to deliver flexible deployment options for data center and corporate environments that require rapid installation times, simple configuration options, and enhanced features not available on Microsoft Server platforms. In addition, the VE and VA Series will support IT goals of cutting data center costs, optimizing resources, and improving operational efficiencies. The virtual and physical appliances can be deployed interchangeably and set up for high availability, thus delivering business continuity and geo-redundancy.

"Celestix purpose-built appliances are simple and cost-effective platforms that are deployed with many of our customers looking to integrate a hardened Microsoft Windows platform without the setup complexities and ongoing management headaches. However, in recent years, data centers and IT departments have undergone a dramatic shift toward virtualized environments," said Jerome Becquart, VP of Operations, Axiad IDS, Inc. "Celestix's move to offer virtual editions for their product line is very well aligned with IT trends and market demand and we are excited to add these new products to our offering."

"We are excited to expand our platforms to a wider audience looking to capitalize on virtual infrastructure. With the joint Microsoft and Celestix technologies in the VE and VA Series, customers will now be able to leverage the benefits of virtualization along with the enhanced reporting, alerting, and remote monitoring capabilities found only on the Celestix platforms." said Gabriele Sartori, Chief Technology Officer at Celestix Networks. "With our latest virtual edition release, customers can take advantage of our feature-rich web-based user interface by integrating our solution with already deployed technologies. The virtual edition customers can also leverage the expertise of Celestix's support organization for DirectAccess, AD FS and WAP."

The software installs on an existing virtual machine with the operating system preinstalled. Celestix requires Windows Server 2012 R2 for its virtual edition. The VE and VA Series can run on all hypervisors supported in the Microsoft Server Virtualization Validation Program (SVVP), Hyper-V, VMware, KVM, and Citrix Xen.
